Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness

Pasquale Kuritzky Architecture, Inc. (PKA), has been awarded a national contract in the health care industry. Harlan Kuritzky, vice president, has announced that the company has been selected to provide architectural services for Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness clinics nationally, and has just begun its fourth and fifth locations in Florida. Construction for the growing franchise is managed by PKA client Franchise Planning Group (FPG) of Davie, FL.

Pasquale Kuritzky Architecture is providing space planning, architecture, engineering and interior design services including site plan approval, entitlements and construction contract administration for the clinics. The Dr. G’s retail locations range from 1,100 SF to 1,750 SF. They are primarily located within high traffic shopping centers. PKA project architect is Michael Sands, LEED A.P.

Pasquale Kuritzky Architecture has already provided design services for the following three Dr. G’s locations which are under construction:

• 77 South Federal Highway, Deerfield Beach
• 4 West Flagler Street in Downtown Miami. This location also incorporates a Froots Smoothies.
• 1567 S. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale in Rio Vista Plaza

Pasquale Kuritzky has just begun the fourth and fifth locations it is designing for FPG, which include a clinic in Wellington Green Commons in Wellington, and in Jupiter Reserve in Jupiter, both of which are expected to be completed by mid January 2012.

Chris Vaccarino, FPG project manager, noted, “As we mapped out our expansion plans, we recognized the value of using the same architect nationwide to achieve a consistent program. Harlan Kuritzky was referred to us through a contractor. We have been impressed with the firm’s responsiveness – it is refreshing for the architect to call us rather than our having to call them.” Vaccarino continued, “PKA’s attention to detail and organization has made this a great experience. We are only as strong as our vendors, and Harlan’s group is certainly a strong vendor we’re glad to have on our team. We look forward to establishing Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness throughout the country supported by Pasquale Kuritzky’s talent and efficiency.”

Franchise Planning Group has projected that it will establish 70 locations throughout the state of Florida, including 30 already existing and planned in South Florida, approximately 12 sites in Orlando and 16 sites in Tampa. Pasquale Kuritzky is primed to design the remainder of the Florida centers, and as the group expands with franchising nationwide, PKA will become registered in each state to accommodate the design of all clinics. Currently, PKA is preparing to provide architectural services for new Dr. G’s clinics in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, among others. According to Vaccarino, Dr. G’s Franchising Companies has identified strong markets including California, Texas, Georgia, Minneapolis and Colorado.

Franchise Planning Group is an affiliate of Dr. G’s Franchising Companies, and is the in-house construction company overseeing all new franchise location construction of Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness. It was established in September of 2010. Dr. G’s Weight Loss & Wellness program was created in 1994 by Dr. Charles Goldsmith.
